As per a notification from UK Border Agency in India those planning on travelling to UK on visitors visa are to allow very good time to make their visa applications, owing to an unprecedented number of visitor visa applications.

As a general guide, currently customers need to allow at least 2 weeks for their visitor visa applications to be processed if they have travelled to the UK within the last 5 years. Otherwise, visitors should allow one month for their visitor visas to be processed before they travel.
