The Orissa government will announce new Tourism Policy soon. The decision in this context was taken during a high level review meeting held recently in the Orissa Secretariat under the Chairmanship of the Naveen Patnaik, Chief Minister, Orissa. In the new Policy importance will be given on the development of infrastructure for tourism and development of professional efficiency. The Chief Minister has instructed to present the new policy in the next meeting of the Cabinet for approval.

As per the review foreign visitors have increased by five per cent and domestic visitors by ten per cent. From January to June 2010 the state witnessed 35, 26,669 domestic visitors and 24,935 foreign visitors.
