Plans to promote tourism in Bangalkot district are underway, and also to implement a heli-tourism package within a year. Preliminary preparations have also been made by the district administration for the state government’s ambitious scheme.

Government sources said, the required number of helipads will be built at places nearest to the historical spots to enable tourists to lose no time and also directly land at tourist spots they want to visit.

The government has a tie up with hotels, lodges and transport vehicles with regard to basic facilities to tourists, after their visits to historic places. The package, while a little expensive, will save time.

The state plans to provide the facility to historical places like Murdeshwar, Gokarna, Kukkai, Karwar, etc.
