Bihar Tourism was presented the best award for 'Heritage Tourism in India' at the three-day India Internastional Travel Mart (IITM), which concluded at Bangalore on Sunday. Tapan Sinha and Gajendra Singh represented Bihar Tourism at the Bangalore IITM.

In all, 16 state tourism departments, along with 20 national travel agencies and 22 international travel agencies, participated in the three-day trade mart.

Bihar Tourism stall attracted huge crowd on the first day itself. Visitors showed keen interest in various historical and religious places of Bihar.

"We told the visitors that Bihar believed in 'Atithi Devo Bhava' (guests are like god). We informed the visitors about several tourists places in Bihar like Pawapuri, Rajgir, Bodh Gaya and Vaishali," Sinha, a senior tourist information officer, Bihar Tourism, said.
