Accor plans to position 2011 as the ‘Year of Ibis’. Ibis is the economy brand of Accor. Daniel Tannenbaum, Regional Director Sales & Marketing - India, Accor said, “We are coining 2011 as the Year of Ibis, since we plan to open five properties in India namely Ibis Mumbai Domestic Airport, two in Bengaluru, one each in Nashik and Navi Mumbai.”

Currently, Ibis Gurgaon and Ibis Pune are operational. In addition, 16 Novotel properties are in the pipeline to be opened in the country. Novotel properties will also come up in Bengaluru and Visakhapatnam.
